Snap a shot of a style you create that Stands Out! Is it your blue peek-a-boo's or shaved sides that make the look? Snap a selfie of your amazing hairstyle or take a pic of a style you created on someone else! There are two ways to enter:

You can enter our Stand Out Contest at the Toronto ABA's! Visit the Canadian Hairdresser Magazine booth and we will snap a picture of your fabulous style! 

 

Our panel of judges will pick out the top twenty styles and get all of you to vote for the one that Stands Out in all the best ways! The winner will receive a Square Stand and iPad for their salon! 

 

Terms and Conditions
1. In order to participate in our "How do you Stand Out" Contest, participants must be a) over 18 years of age, b) a hairdresser by profession, c) a resident of Canada
2. Prize consists of solely one (1) Square stand and one (1) iPad, meant for salon/freelance sales purposes, which will be shipped to the winner's salon address in Canada.
3. Participants in "How do You Stand Out" contest must submit an image of a hair style and overall look which they deem unique enough to "stand out." Image must be submitted to editor1@canhair.com with the subject line "Square Stand Contest," or uploaded via Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #StandOut. Images do not necessarily have to be professional or studio images in order to qualify. 
4. Contestants must be willing to use Square sales system as their sales system.
5. If the winner does not respond to the notification within: five (5) business days a runner up will be chosen to receive the prize. Failure to respond within the time frame listed above shall mean that the provisional winner forfeits the prize.
6. Only one entry per person will be considered for contest entry. Multiple entries per salon are permitted.
7. The Winner will be contacted after a select period of time in order to retrieve a statement regarding the use of Square Stand and iPad as a sales system. Images of Square Stand and iPad in use will be requested in addition to a statement. Canadian Hairdresser Magazine reserves the right to use, reproduce, edit, display, transmit, prepare derivative works of, modify, publish, and otherwise make use of said materials in any and all media, whether now known or hereinafter created-throughout the world and for any purpose-without compensation to you of any kind.
8. Entries will be accepted until April 7, 2014 23:59 EST
9. Entrants must send entries as required in the contest announcement in order to be eligible. Entries received after the deadline set forth in the contest announcement are ineligible, null, and void. Canadian Hairdresser will not be responsible for and will not consider incomplete or incorrect entries. Canadian Hairdresser is not responsible for entries that are sent but not received by Canadian Hairdresser for any reason. 
10. Five (5) finalists will be chosen by Canadian Hairdresser Magazine, at random or at the discretion of its officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, and assigns, and will be announced on April 8, 2014
11. The winner of Canadian Hairdresser Magazine's "How do You Stand Out" contest will be announced April 18, 2014.
12. Canadian Hairdresser reserves the right to condition the award of prizes upon the execution by the winner(s) of a publicity release. Notwithstanding this reserved right, entry is conclusively deemed to be permission by the entrant to use the entrant's name (without compensation to the entrant) if the entrant is a winner to publicize the contest and otherwise, as determined by Canadian Hairdresser Magazine, unless prohibited by law.
13. All photos, drawings, text, and any other content or information (collectively and severally, "Materials") submitted by you to Canadian Hairdresser shall become the sole and exclusive property of Canadian Hairdresser, and Canadian Hairdresser shall have no obligation to preserve, return, or otherwise make available to you or others any Materials.
14.Canadian Hairdresser may use, reproduce, edit, display, transmit, prepare derivative works of, modify, publish, and otherwise make use of Materials in any and all media, whether now known or hereinafter created-throughout the world and for any purpose-without compensation to you of any kind.
15. By submitting Materials to Canadian Hairdresser, you represent and warrant that the Materials do not infringe any copyright, trademark, property rights, rights of privacy or publicity of any person, or any other right of any third party and that you have the full and unrestricted right to transfer the Materials to Canadian Hairdresser free and clear of any claims or encumbrances.
16. You acknowledge and agree that Materials submitted by you may be made available by Canadian Hairdresser for viewing, rating, reviewing, and commenting by the public. You acknowledge that comments or ratings that you disagree with or are unhappy about may be published or otherwise become associated with Materials that you submit to Canadian Hairdresser. By submitting Materials to Canadian Hairdresser, you waive any privacy expectations that you may have with respect to the Materials.
17. You agree to hold Canadian Hairdresser and its officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, and assigns harmless from and against-and hereby waive any right to pursue-any claims of any nature arising in connection with Canadian Hairdresser's use of the Materials submitted to Canadian Hairdresser and used in any manner in Canadian Hairdresser's sole and absolute discretion.
18. Contests involving evaluations of Materials submitted as part of the contest will be judged entirely in the sole and absolute discretion of Canadian Hairdresser. Decisions by Canadian Hairdresser are final.
19. Winner(s) may not request substitutions of prize winnings. All winners are solely responsible for any and all taxes and/or fees as well as all additional costs that may be incurred.
20. Neither Canadian Hairdresser nor its officers, directors, employees, agents, successors, or assigns shall be liable for any warranty, costs, damage, injury, or any other claims incurred as a result of the usage of a prize by any winner. Canadian Hairdresser is not liable for any loss arising out of or in connection with any contest promoted by Canadian Hairdresser.
21. If the specified prize becomes unavailable for any reason, Canadian Hairdresser in its sole and absolute discretion may substitute a prize of like or equal value.
22. A contest is null and void in any jurisdiction where prohibited by law.
23. Canadian Hairdresser reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to terminate any contest at any time without prior notice.
24. Canadian Hairdresser reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to alter any contest rules at any time.
25. By entering a contest, you conclusively are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these contest rules and terms and conditions as well as by any rules specific to such contest. This is an irrevocable condition of entry.
26. The following criteria apply:
In contests and polls in which Canadian Hairdresser solicits votes by the public to help decide the winner, while the results of such polls may be a considered factor in determining the winner, the winner will ultimately be selected by Canadian Hairdresser Magazine in its sole and absolute discretion.
27. No purchase or payment of any consideration is necessary to enter the contest.
28. Canadian Hairdresser reserves the right to require the winner to execute an affidavit of eligibility as a sworn document and provide other proof of eligibility as a condition of receipt of the prize or award.
