Tanning Beds: A word of Caution for Spa Owners

A very popular business that generates over $30 million in Canada and the USA

Salon owners must be aware of possible new regulations regarding tanning beds. They are a big source of income for salons because they are very popular - especially in Canada where the winter drags for a long period. Jon Gonzales, president of Hairdresser Career Development Systems (HCDS) and a sought-after business adviser by salon owners, says that although indoor tanning is popular and  big business, it is being scrutinized by government agencies in both the United States and Canada because they have been poorly regulated until now.  Soon, salon and spa owners will have to place mandatory warning labels and age restrictions on indoor tanning equipment. Gonzales recommends all salon owners to avoid future class action law suits against their shops by installing health warnings label to their tanning equipment and updating it to the newest models. He adds that asking your  tanning clients to sign release forms is another good idea. em> For more information or advise for your salon, contact Jon Gonzales by visiting www.hcds4you.com /em>
